The Norfolk Scope, a 12,600 seat multipurpose arena located in the heart of Norfolk, Virginia, was in need of repairs. As part of a comprehensive upgrade, RPC Industries was contracted to patch all areas that were affected by other renovations then recoat the entire roof with BASF Elastocoat Silicone and Elastospray foam.
With steep pyramids and flat valleys, this roof was nothing short of a nightmare for the owner. Fearful that extensive renovations would mean hassle for the tennants, RPC Industries was called. Without any tenant disruption, a foam roof was installed that greatly increased energy efficiency and removed all leaking areas.
As part of the renovation for aircraft launch systems on the new class of supercarriers, a temporary encapsulation of 3 launch mechanisms was required. These structures had to be well insulated, easily movable via crane, and have integrated power. RPC Industries provided the perfect solution, allowing the project to continue without any delay.
Automation Controls' new building was in a prime location but had sub-par construction. After meeting with RPC Industries, an encapsulation was determined to be the most cost efficient and timely solution. Not only did this total encapsulation design seal the building with incredible results, it also stiffened the structure to the point where it could be safely walked on for the first time in 50 years.
